The oldest portion of Malaysia's second-largest city has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but George Town is known for its gastronomy as well as its architecture. George Town, dubbed "Malaysia's Cuisine Capital," is home to some of Asia's greatest street food, which can be found along the city's oceanfront Gurney Drive and Chulia Street, a famous backpacker hangout and one of the city's oldest streets.
While the port and waterfront area of George Town are popular with tourists, there is much more to see and do here. The Rainbow Skywalk, a U-shaped exterior glass observation deck 68 storeys up in the air, is located in the city's highest tower. Take the tram for a less nerve-wracking perspective of the city.
