Opposition Topic

Title: Social media brings more good than harm to society

Summary: Social media are interactive technologies that allow the creation or sharing/exchange of information, ideas, career interests, and other forms of expression via virtual communities and networks. While challenges to the definition of social media arise due to the broad variety of stand-alone and built-in social-media services currently available, there are some common features. Users usually access social media services via web-based apps on desktops and laptops, or download services that offer social media functionality to their mobile devices (e.g., smartphones and tablets). As users engage with these electronic services, they create highly interactive platforms through which individuals, communities, and organizations can share, co-create, discuss, participate, and modify user-generated content or self-curated content posted online Additionally, social media are used to document memories; learn about and explore things; advertise oneself; and form friendships along with the growth of ideas from the creation of blogspodcasts, videos, and gaming sites. This changing relationship between human and technology is the focus of the emerging field of techno self-studies.

1) Build relationships. Social media is not just about brands connecting with their customers

Customers can use social media to connect with your company and share their experiences, both bad and good. Social media allows you to build and strengthen customer relationships because it provides a method for you to engage with your customers and for customers to engage with you

 2) Increase your visibility

Including a visual on your web page, in your blog post or in your social media feed is one of the best ways to boost engagement and visibility. Photos, infographics, GIFs and visuals are all suitable choices. Not only do visual posts get more shares, likes and comments; people retain the information in them better

3)  Share your expertise. Social media gives you an opportunity to talk about what  you         know and what you want to be known for. ...

Some of the potential opportunities include collaboration and connectivity among users, access to clinical experts, access to information from a number of different sources, and the ability to disseminate information.

Social media gives everyone the ability to discover knowledge and contacts as they exchange information and collaborate, making it an ideal complement to knowledge management. It's no longer unusual in any way to post one's thoughts and knowledge, participate in discussions, ask questions, and leave comments

4) Educate yourself

The use of social media in education helps students, teachers and parents to get more useful information, to connect with learning groups and other educational systems that make education convenient. Social network tools afford students and institutions with multiple opportunities to improve learning methods.

5) Connect anytime.

Social sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram etc are the fastest and the most convenient ways to be connected to our loved ones no matter how far they are from us. These connections can help one with a variety of things like seeking a new job, locating assistance, making or receiving advice
